We are pleased to offer OSTEOPATHY and MEDICAL ACUPUNTURE.
These are usually offered in combination for best results but are available as single treatments upon request.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic healthcare system which identifies and treats musculoskeletal problems to relieve pain and improve health.
Osteopaths use many of the diagnostic procedures found in conventional medicine. In addition, they receive special training in postural assessment and use their sense of touch to identify problems in the musculoskeletal system.
The initial consultation will last 45-60 minutes and will begin with your osteopath taking a full medical history. They will then look at your posture and examine the problem area to obtain a diagnosis. Where appropriate, they may also order additional investigations such as x-rays and MRI scans.
 
Most musculoskeletal problems that we see respond well to treatment but if your osteopath does not think that osteopathy is suitable for you, they will refer you to whichever healthcare practitioner will best be able to help you.

Treatment may include:

  • Postural Examination
  • Joint Manipulation
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Exercise Prescription

What is Medical Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a technique that can treat a wide variety of conditions. It is used to stimulate the body to produce pain-relieving chemicals and can also be applied to specific areas of dysfunction within muscles to correct abnormal muscle pain and tension.

The treatment itself involves fine needles being inserted through the skin and briefly left in position. The number of needles varies but may be only two or three.

We find it is particularly successful in treating conditions that have traditionally been harder to resolve, such as headaches and repetitive strain injuries.

We are also pleased to offer concessions for students/unemployed at the practitioner's discretion.
